U Mobile APN settings

U Mobile uses a minimal APN configuration: only the APN field is required. Username, password, MCC, and MNC are auto-detected from your SIM card by both Android and iOS.
Configure U Mobile APN on Android
- Open Settings on your Android device.
- Tap Network & internet (or Connections on Samsung) → Mobile network → Advanced → Access Point Names.
- Tap the + icon (or the menu) to create a new APN profile.
- Enter Name: U Mobile.
- Enter APN:
internet. - Leave the remaining fields at their defaults unless your carrier provides specific values.
- Tap the three-dot menu → Save.
- Return to the APN list and select the U Mobile profile (tap the radio button next to it).
- Toggle airplane mode on, wait 10 seconds, toggle it off to force the new APN to take effect.
Configure U Mobile APN on iPhone
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Tap Cellular (or Mobile Data outside the US) → Cellular Data Network.
- If this menu is missing, your carrier has locked APN editing on this iPhone model — see troubleshooting below.
- Under the Cellular Data section, enter APN:
internet. - Scroll down and configure the same values under LTE Setup (Optional) and MMS sections to ensure SMS picture messaging works.
- Return to the Settings root. The new APN takes effect within 30 seconds — no reboot needed.
- If data is still not working after 60 seconds, toggle airplane mode on and off.
U Mobile APN troubleshooting
- No data after saving APN. Verify the APN value matches exactly — APN strings are case-sensitive on some Android builds. Common typo:
internettyped with a trailing space. - "Cellular Data Network" menu missing on iPhone. Your carrier locked APN editing. Reset network settings via Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings. If still missing, the SIM profile is hard-locked and you must use the carrier's auto-config (request a "carrier settings update" notification by inserting the SIM).
- Data works but MMS fails. MMS uses a separate APN configuration. On Android, create a second APN entry with APN type
mms. On iPhone, fill in the MMS section under Cellular Data Network with the same APN value. - 4G/5G icon shows but no internet. Toggle airplane mode, then check that Mobile Data is enabled and that Data Roaming is on if you're traveling. Some U Mobile plans require Data Roaming even on the home network during specific tower handovers.
- APN reverts after reboot. Long-press the APN profile and pick Set as default. If the carrier's auto-config keeps overwriting it, disable Auto-select carrier settings in mobile network settings before saving.
