ACT Fibernet Router Login

192.168.1.1

India Nokia, D-Link, TP-Link

ACT Fibernet supplies routers from several vendors, so the default gateway is usually 192.168.1.1 and credentials vary by model. This guide covers login steps, default passwords, and configuration for ACT-supplied routers.

How to Login to Your ACT Fibernet Router

Atria Convergence Technologies Limited operates ACT Fibernet, a 100 percent fibre-to-the-home broadband service across more than 30 Indian cities. To open the ACT router admin panel, connect to your ACT network by Wi-Fi or a LAN cable. Open a browser and type the IP address 192.168.1.1 in the address bar.

ACT supplies routers from several manufacturers, so the default gateway is not always identical. Nokia and TP-Link units use 192.168.1.1. Some D-Link and older ONT models use 192.168.0.1 instead. The address printed on the label under the device is the authoritative value for your specific unit.

The login page will appear. Enter admin as the username and admin as the password on units that still carry the factory default. Many ACT routers ship with a unique password printed on the device label, and ACT engineers set a custom password at installation on some connections. If admin fails, read the label before you reset.

ACT provides the ACT Fibernet app for account and connection management. The app changes the Wi-Fi name and password without opening the router panel, which is the faster route for subscribers who only need to update credentials. The web panel at 192.168.1.1 remains the primary surface for port forwarding, DHCP, and bridge-mode configuration.

ACT Fibernet Router Models and Default Settings

ACT installs ONT-routers from a small set of vendors. The defaults below cover the units most subscribers receive.

ACT bundles a Wi-Fi router with all residential plans. The single-band units on entry plans cover a 1BHK or 2BHK flat; larger homes on the 500 Mbps and 1 Gbps tiers receive dual-band hardware, and ACT sells mesh add-ons for full-home coverage.

Changing Your ACT Fibernet Wi-Fi Password

Change the default password if your router still uses admin, since the factory credential is publicly known. Here is the process on a typical ACT ONT.

Log in at 192.168.1.1 with your credentials. Open Wi-Fi Settings or Wireless in the menu. You will see the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks on dual-band units.

Select the network to modify. Change the Network Name (SSID) and update the Password field. Use at least 12 characters. Avoid your mobile number or flat number.

Click Save or Apply. Connected devices drop and must rejoin. Change both bands for consistency.

The ACT Fibernet app is the faster alternative. Open the app, go to the connection settings, and update the Wi-Fi password directly. For a brand-by-brand walkthrough, see our Wi-Fi password change guide.

Using Your Own Router with ACT Fibernet

ACT lets you run your own router behind the supplied ONT. The ONT handles fibre authentication; your router handles the home network.

Steps to connect your own router:

  1. Ask ACT support to set the ONT to bridge mode, or connect your router’s WAN port to a LAN port on the ACT ONT with an Ethernet cable.
  2. Set your router’s WAN connection type to DHCP. ACT does not require PPPoE credentials on most plans.
  3. Change your router’s LAN subnet to one that differs from the ACT device, for example 192.168.10.x, to avoid IP address conflicts.
  4. Disable Wi-Fi on the ACT ONT through 192.168.1.1 to stop the two radios interfering.
  5. Restart both devices.

Subscribers weighing ACT against JioFiber will find the own-router setup similar on both networks. Our Jio vs ACT Fibernet comparison covers the plan and coverage differences in detail.

Troubleshooting ACT Fibernet Router Issues

Here are the most common ACT Fibernet router problems and how to fix them.

  1. Login page does not load. Confirm the gateway. Nokia and TP-Link units use 192.168.1.1; some D-Link units use 192.168.0.1. Type http://192.168.1.1 with the prefix, confirm you are on the ACT network, and try a LAN cable. See router login not working for the full sequence.
  2. Password rejected. Read the label under the router. Many ACT units ship with a unique password rather than admin. A factory reset (hold the reset button 15 seconds) restores the label default, after which you reset the router credentials.
  3. Connected but no internet. Power cycle the ONT by unplugging it for 30 seconds. Check the fibre cable at the wall terminal. If the connection does not return, raise a ticket in the ACT Fibernet app or call ACT support.
  4. Slow Wi-Fi speeds. Test over a LAN cable first. If the wired speed matches your plan but Wi-Fi is slow, the built-in radio is the bottleneck. Use the 5 GHz band on dual-band units and consider a mesh add-on.
  5. Red light on the ONT. A solid red light signals a fibre line fault. Inspect the fibre cable from the wall terminal to the ONT without bending it, then report the fault to ACT.

ACT Fibernet sits alongside JioFiber and Airtel Xstream among India’s major wired broadband providers. For the full list of router-login guides by provider, see our India ISP router login guides.

Test your ACT Fibernet connection

After logging into your router, run a speed test to confirm ACT Fibernet is delivering the throughput your plan promises. The widget below uses M-Lab's open NDT7 protocol — see the full speed test page for details on how the measurement works.

ACT Fibernet Router FAQ

What is the default IP address for an ACT Fibernet router?

Most ACT Fibernet routers use 192.168.1.1 as the default gateway. A few D-Link and older ONT models use 192.168.0.1 instead. Type the address in your browser while connected to your ACT network to open the admin panel.

What is the default username and password for an ACT Fibernet router?

ACT supplies routers from several manufacturers, so the default is commonly admin and admin, but many units carry a unique password printed on the device label. ACT engineers also set a custom password at installation on some connections.

How do I change my ACT Fibernet Wi-Fi password?

Log in at 192.168.1.1, open the Wi-Fi or Wireless section, edit the password field, and save. The ACT Fibernet app offers the same change without opening the router panel, under the connection settings.

Why does my ACT Fibernet router use 192.168.0.1 instead of 192.168.1.1?

The gateway depends on the router vendor ACT installed. Nokia and TP-Link ONTs default to 192.168.1.1, while some D-Link models default to 192.168.0.1. Check the label on the underside of the device to confirm.

Can I use my own router with ACT Fibernet?

Yes. Set the ACT ONT to bridge mode or connect your router's WAN port to a LAN port on the ACT device, set your router's WAN to DHCP, and use a LAN subnet other than the ACT one to avoid IP address conflicts.
