GTPL Hathway is a regional broadband operator strongest in Gujarat, supplying GPON ONT routers that default to 192.168.1.1. Older cable connections place the router at 192.168.0.1. This guide covers login, default passwords, and Wi-Fi setup.

How to Login to Your GTPL Hathway Router

GTPL Hathway, founded in 2006 and headquartered in Ahmedabad, is a regional broadband operator strongest in Gujarat, with coverage across parts of central and western India. It serves roughly 1.06 million broadband subscribers. To reach the router admin panel, connect to the GTPL network and type 192.168.1.1 in your browser.

GTPL has migrated most of its base from coaxial cable to fibre, so 192.168.1.1 is the default gateway on current installs. If you still hold an older GTPL cable connection, the router instead answers at 192.168.0.1. Try the fibre address first; switch to the cable address only if it does not respond.

Enter admin and admin at the login prompt on units that keep the factory default. GTPL supplies Syrotech and D-Link hardware on some plans, and these can carry a label-printed password rather than the admin default. Check the sticker on the underside of the unit before any reset.

GTPL offers an app for billing and connection management that also changes Wi-Fi settings. The web panel at 192.168.1.1 stays the place for port forwarding, DHCP reservations, and bridge-mode changes.

GTPL Hathway Router Models and Default Settings

GTPL installs GPON ONTs from a small vendor set. The table covers the gateways most subscribers receive.

Router VendorDefault IPUsernamePasswordNotes
Nokia GPON ONT192.168.1.1adminadmin or on labelCurrent fibre installs, see Nokia router guide
Syrotech ONT192.168.1.1adminon labelCommon on value plans
D-Link router192.168.0.1adminadminLegacy cable installs, see D-Link router guide

The Nokia and Syrotech ONTs combine the fibre terminal and Wi-Fi router. Plan speeds reach 200 Mbps, so a single-band radio handles entry tiers, while faster plans ship dual-band units for 5 GHz devices.

Changing Your GTPL Hathway Wi-Fi Password

Replace the default credential if your router still uses admin, since the factory value is public.

Log in at 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 to match your hardware. Open WLAN or Wireless. Pick the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz network to edit.

Change the SSID and the Password field. Use at least 12 characters. Click Save, then rejoin your devices on the new password.

The GTPL app makes the same change from a phone. Our Wi-Fi password change guide lists the menu names across brands.

Using Your Own Router with GTPL Hathway

GTPL supports a personal router on fibre and on legacy cable.

Steps to connect your own router:

  1. On fibre, ask GTPL to set the ONT to bridge mode; on cable, connect your router’s WAN to the modem’s LAN port.
  2. Set your router’s WAN to DHCP, or PPPoE with your GTPL credentials if the fibre line requires it.
  3. Use a LAN subnet such as 192.168.40.x so it does not clash with the GTPL device.
  4. Disable Wi-Fi on the GTPL ONT to avoid two overlapping networks.
  5. Restart both devices.

Troubleshooting GTPL Hathway Router Issues

These are the common GTPL Hathway router problems and fixes.

  1. Wrong gateway address. Fibre uses 192.168.1.1; legacy cable uses 192.168.0.1. Try the other address before assuming a fault. See router login not working.
  2. Password rejected. Syrotech and D-Link units may use a label password rather than admin. Read the sticker, then reset the router only as a last resort.
  3. Connected but no internet. Power cycle the ONT for 30 seconds and check the fibre or coaxial cable at the wall terminal. Raise a ticket through the GTPL app if it does not recover.
  4. Slow Wi-Fi. Test over Ethernet first. If wired speed matches your plan, the ONT radio is the limit; use 5 GHz or add a mesh node.
  5. Red light on the ONT. A solid red light indicates a fibre fault. Inspect the cable without bending it and report it to GTPL.

GTPL Hathway operates alongside JioFiber, Airtel Xstream, and ACT Fibernet in the markets it serves. For the full provider list, see our India ISP router login guides.
