Hathway Router Login
192.168.1.1
Hathway runs both fibre (GPON) and cable (HFC/DOCSIS) networks, so the login gateway depends on which one you have. Fibre installs use 192.168.1.1; cable modems sit behind 192.168.0.1 with the modem diagnostic page at 192.168.100.1. This guide covers both.
How to Login to Your Hathway Router
Hathway Cable and Datacom, now majority-owned by Reliance Industries, has carried broadband since 1959 and serves about 1.06 million subscribers. Hathway runs two different access networks, so the login address depends on the hardware in your home. On a fibre (GPON) connection, connect to the network and type 192.168.1.1 in your browser.
On a Hathway cable connection, the default gateway is usually 192.168.0.1, because cable installs pair a DOCSIS modem with a separate router. The modem itself answers at 192.168.100.1, a read-only page that shows downstream and upstream signal levels rather than Wi-Fi settings.
The login page asks for a username and password. Enter admin and admin on units that keep the factory default. Tenda routers, common on Hathway cable plans, sometimes ship with a blank password or one printed on the base label. Check the sticker before you attempt a reset.
Hathway provides the Hathway Broadband app for account management and Wi-Fi changes. The app is the quickest path for subscribers who only need to rename the network or reset the password, while the web panel remains the place for port forwarding and DHCP reservations.
Hathway Router and Modem Models
Hathway installs hardware from several vendors across its fibre and cable footprints. The table lists the gateways most subscribers receive.
| Hardware | Network | Default IP | Username | Password |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nokia GPON ONT | Fibre | 192.168.1.1 | admin | admin or on label |
| Tenda router | Cable | 192.168.0.1 | admin | blank or on label |
| D-Link router | Cable/Fibre | 192.168.0.1 | admin | admin |
| DOCSIS cable modem | Cable | 192.168.100.1 | — | status page only |
The Nokia ONT appears on newer FTTH installs, where Hathway has migrated much of its base from coaxial cable to fibre. The DOCSIS modem on legacy HFC lines is a diagnostic surface only; the Wi-Fi configuration lives on the router behind it. For brand-specific steps, see the Nokia router guide and the D-Link router guide.
Changing Your Hathway Wi-Fi Password
Update the default credential if your router still uses admin, since the factory value is public. The steps are the same on fibre and cable once you reach the panel.
Log in at 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. Open Wireless or Wi-Fi Settings. Select the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz network you want to change.
Edit the SSID and the Password field. Use at least 12 characters and avoid your phone number. Click Apply or Save, then reconnect your devices.
The Hathway Broadband app offers the same change from a phone. Our Wi-Fi password change guide covers the menu names across router brands.
Using Your Own Router with Hathway
Hathway supports your own router on both network types, though the steps differ.
On Hathway fibre (GPON):
- Ask Hathway support to switch the ONT to bridge mode.
- Set your router’s WAN to PPPoE with your Hathway credentials, or DHCP if the connection is IPoE.
- Disable Wi-Fi on the ONT to avoid two overlapping networks.
On Hathway cable (DOCSIS):
- Connect your router’s WAN port to the LAN port on the Hathway modem.
- Set your router’s WAN to DHCP.
- Use a LAN subnet such as 192.168.10.x so it does not clash with the modem’s 192.168.0.x range.

Troubleshooting Hathway Router Issues
These are the common Hathway login and connection problems.
- Wrong gateway address. Fibre uses 192.168.1.1; cable uses 192.168.0.1. If one fails, try the other before assuming a fault. See router login not working for the full check.
- Password rejected. Tenda cable units often have no default password or one on the label. Read the sticker, then reset the router only as a last resort.
- Modem shows online but no internet. On cable, open 192.168.100.1 to read signal levels. Power levels outside the normal range point to a line fault Hathway must fix.
- Slow Wi-Fi. Test over Ethernet first. If wired speed matches your plan, the router radio is the limit; move to 5 GHz or add a mesh node.
- Frequent disconnects on cable. Loose coaxial connectors are the usual cause. Hand-tighten the cable at the wall and the modem, then power cycle.
Hathway sits alongside JioFiber and Airtel Xstream among India’s major wired providers. For the full provider list, see our India ISP router login guides.
Test your Hathway connection
After logging into your router, run a speed test to confirm Hathway is delivering the throughput your plan promises. The widget below uses M-Lab's open NDT7 protocol — see the full speed test page for details on how the measurement works.
Hathway Router FAQ
What is the default IP address for a Hathway router?
Hathway fibre (GPON) routers use 192.168.1.1 as the default gateway. Hathway cable broadband runs through a DOCSIS modem, where the router gateway is usually 192.168.0.1 and the modem's own diagnostic page sits at 192.168.100.1.
What is the default username and password for a Hathway router?
The factory default is commonly admin and admin, but Tenda units supplied for cable broadband often use admin with a blank or label-printed password. Read the sticker under the device before resetting.
How do I change my Hathway Wi-Fi password?
Log in at 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 depending on your hardware, open the Wireless or Wi-Fi section, edit the password field, and save. The Hathway Broadband app can also update the Wi-Fi password without opening the router panel.
What is the difference between Hathway fibre and cable login?
Hathway fibre uses a GPON ONT-router at 192.168.1.1. Hathway cable uses a DOCSIS modem plus router, where the router answers at 192.168.0.1 and the modem exposes a read-only status page at 192.168.100.1 for signal levels.
Can I use my own router with Hathway broadband?
Yes. On fibre, set the Hathway ONT to bridge mode and run PPPoE or DHCP on your router. On cable, connect your router's WAN to the DOCSIS modem's LAN port and set the WAN to DHCP. Use a LAN subnet that differs from the modem to avoid conflicts.
