BSNL Router Login
192.168.1.1
BSNL router login is at 192.168.1.1 with default credentials admin and admin on most units. The exception is the Netlink HG323RW which uses admin and stdONU101. The Bharat Fiber FTTH fleet covers Huawei HG8145V5 and EG8145V5, ZTE F660 and F670L, Nokia G-240W-A, Syrotech SY-GPON-1110-WDONT, Genexis Pure 3, Skyworth, and Netlink HG323RW. Unit selection depends on the Local Cable Operator (LCO) or Telecom Infrastructure Provider (TIP) handling your installation. BSNL does not manufacture router silicon: hardware is OEMed from multiple vendors then deployed under the Bharat Fiber brand.
BSNL is the gateway brand used by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, India’s state-owned telecommunications company, for its Bharat Fiber FTTH service. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) under the Government of India owns BSNL outright. The company was established on October 1, 2000 and serves 92 million wireless subscribers plus 4.3 million fixed broadband users. The hardware is multi-OEM and TIP-sourced (Telecom Infrastructure Provider): Huawei, ZTE, Nokia, Syrotech, Genexis, Skyworth, and Netlink units all appear across India depending on the Local Cable Operator (LCO) handling the installation. All units run on the 192.168.1.0/24 subnet with the gateway at 192.168.1.1.
BSNL’s TIP partnership model lets it deliver Bharat Fiber into rural and remote areas (Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, parts of northeast India) where private operators like Jio and Airtel have limited reach. The trade-off is OEM fragmentation: a customer in Bengaluru might receive a Huawei HG8145V5, while a customer in Imphal could receive a Netlink HG323RW or a Syrotech SY-GPON-1110-WDONT. The login process is consistent (192.168.1.1) but credentials vary by unit.
How to Login to Your BSNL Router
The login process is the same across the entire Bharat Fiber fleet because the LAN subnet does not change by OEM. Open a browser on any device connected to the BSNL ONT:
- 192.168.1.1: BSNL Bharat Fiber ONT. Default credentials are
admin/adminon most units. The Netlink HG323RW usesadmin/stdONU101.
The login page displays username and password fields. Enter admin for both on most units. On the Netlink HG323RW, the password is stdONU101 (case-sensitive, capital ONU). On Huawei or ZTE units installed by a TIP, check the back-label for a per-device password if admin / admin is rejected.
For service-level issues (slow speed, outage tickets), use the MyBSNL app on iOS and Android or the BSNL Selfcare portal. Unlike the JioHome app or the Airtel Thanks app, MyBSNL does not provide direct gateway-level Wi-Fi management. The web panel at 192.168.1.1 remains the primary surface for password changes and configuration.
Bharat Fiber FTTH Service
Bharat Fiber is BSNL’s fibre-to-the-home broadband product, delivered over GPON ONTs sourced from the TIP partner ecosystem. Plans start at ₹249 per month for 25 Mbps in rural areas and ₹449 per month for 50 Mbps (Spark plan) in urban areas. The Basic OTT plan at ₹599 delivers 75 Mbps with 4,000 GB data and includes streaming bundles. The Value OTT plan at ₹799 provides 125 Mbps, and the Premium plan at ₹1,799 delivers 300 Mbps with unlimited data and a full OTT bundle. The first-year discount of ₹50 per month applies to select plans.
All Bharat Fiber plans include free voice calling. The ONT combines fibre termination, Wi-Fi access point, and router into one box, eliminating the dual-device setup common with Airtel Xstream Fiber installations.
BSNL Router Models and Default Settings
The Bharat Fiber fleet covers seven OEM lineages across nine commonly-deployed ONT models. Unit selection depends on your TIP partner and local LCO stock.
| Router Model | Default IP | Username | Password | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Huawei HG8145V5 | 192.168.1.1 | admin | admin | Dual-band Wi-Fi 5, common in metros |
| Huawei EG8145V5 | 192.168.1.1 | admin | admin or label | Enterprise variant, select cities |
| ZTE F660 | 192.168.1.1 | admin | admin | Single-band 2.4 GHz, lower-tier plans |
| ZTE F670L | 192.168.1.1 | admin | admin or label | Dual-band, newer deployments |
| Nokia G-240W-A | 192.168.1.1 | admin | admin | Wi-Fi 5, select areas |
| Syrotech SY-GPON-1110-WDONT | 192.168.1.1 | admin | admin | Indian OEM, common in tier 2 cities |
| Genexis Pure 3 | 192.168.1.1 | admin | admin | Dutch OEM, premium installs |
| Skyworth GPON ONT | 192.168.1.1 | admin | admin | Chinese OEM, budget tier |
| Netlink HG323RW | 192.168.1.1 | admin | stdONU101 | Indian OEM, single-band 2.4 GHz |
From the panel you can swap SSIDs, push a new Wi-Fi key, open ports, pin static DHCP leases, set parental schedules, and inspect firmware build. Radio performance separates the fleet sharply: the Huawei HG8145V5 and ZTE F670L bring dual-band 2.4 GHz + 5 GHz, while the ZTE F660, Netlink HG323RW, and Skyworth budget ONTs are 2.4 GHz only and run out of headroom past three or four concurrent devices.
Using Your Own Router with BSNL Bharat Fiber
Bharat Fiber accepts a downstream router behind the supplied ONT. The BSNL ONT authenticates against the OLT upstream and bridges Ethernet to its LAN ports for the customer side.
- Open the BSNL ONT admin page at 192.168.1.1 and find the Wi-Fi or WLAN configuration tab.
- Switch off both radios on the BSNL ONT (especially on Netlink HG323RW and Skyworth units, where the 2.4 GHz radio struggles in concrete-walled homes anyway).
- Run an Ethernet patch from the BSNL ONT’s LAN1 or LAN2 socket into your downstream router’s WAN socket.
- In your downstream router’s setup wizard, pick DHCP as the WAN protocol. Bharat Fiber does not pass PPPoE through to the customer router: the ONT terminates the operator session, so the downstream side just needs a DHCP lease.
- Renumber the downstream router’s LAN to 192.168.0.0/24, 192.168.2.0/24, or 10.0.0.0/24 to keep it off the BSNL ONT’s 192.168.1.0/24 block.
- Power-cycle the BSNL ONT first and wait for the PON LED to go solid green before booting the downstream router.
For the ₹249 and ₹449 entry tiers a TP-Link Archer C6 is the value pick. The 125 Mbps Value OTT and 300 Mbps Premium plans pair well with an Asus RT-AX55 or a Netgear Nighthawk. The downstream-router approach is identical to Airtel Xstream Fiber on the operational side.
Common Issues
Forgotten password. If the admin password has been changed and the original is lost, factory reset the gateway with the pinhole button (10 to 15 seconds) and re-login with the credentials from the table above. The Netlink HG323RW restores to admin / stdONU101 after reset, not admin / admin.
Gateway not loading. Confirm you are on the BSNL network, not mobile data. Type http://192.168.1.1 with the full prefix. If you are double-NAT’d behind a personal router, 192.168.1.1 may resolve to the downstream router instead of the BSNL ONT. Plug directly into a LAN port on the BSNL unit. See the router login not working guide for the full diagnostic.
Password rejected. The most common cause is the Netlink HG323RW shipping with stdONU101 rather than admin. Check the model number on the back of the unit. Other units that ship with TIP-set custom passwords print the password on the back label. A factory reset restores OEM defaults.
Red LOS light. A red LOS LED is a fibre-side fault, not a login fault. Pull the SC/APC patch cord at the ONT, wipe the ferrule with a dry lint-free cloth, and reseat it. Fibre patch cords break above their bend radius, so check for kinks under furniture or behind the TV unit. If the LOS stays red, raise a ticket through MyBSNL or call 1500 (BSNL customer care).
Slow Wi-Fi speeds. Test with a wired LAN connection first. If wired speed matches your plan tier, Wi-Fi is the bottleneck. The ZTE F660, Netlink HG323RW, and Skyworth budget ONTs are 2.4 GHz only and struggle in 2BHK and 3BHK flats with multiple connected devices. Place the router centrally and add a mesh system or upgrade to the Premium 300 Mbps plan (which ships with a dual-band ONT) for larger homes.
How BSNL Routers Compare to Other Indian ISPs
BSNL’s TIP-sourced fleet is the most fragmented among major Indian ISPs. Jio standardised on a single Sercomm-built JMR815/JMR1140 platform with the non-standard 192.168.29.0/24 LAN subnet. Airtel mixes Nokia, Huawei, ZTE, Sercomm, Dragonpath, and Dasan on 192.168.1.0/24. BSNL extends the multi-OEM model further with Syrotech, Genexis, Skyworth, and Netlink filling in where Huawei, ZTE, and Nokia stock runs short.
ACT Fibernet and Hathway lean on retail-grade TP-Link or D-Link hardware on 192.168.0.1. Among the four major Indian ISPs, BSNL is the only one whose ONT can ship with five different default password conventions depending on the OEM. The Netlink HG323RW’s stdONU101 is the single biggest source of “BSNL router password not working” support tickets.
BSNL uses CGNAT on the majority of Bharat Fiber plans, which can block inbound port forwarding. Customers needing a static IPv4 can request one through their TIP partner. Bharat Fiber’s affordability (₹249 entry tier) and rural reach (Andaman, Lakshadweep, northeast India) remain its primary strengths over Jio and Airtel.

BSNL Router FAQ
What is the default IP for a BSNL router?
BSNL Bharat Fiber ONTs use 192.168.1.1 as the LAN gateway across the full fleet. This applies to Huawei HG8145V5, ZTE F660, ZTE F670L, Nokia G-240W-A, Syrotech, Genexis Pure 3, Skyworth, and Netlink HG323RW. Check the sticker on the back of the unit for confirmation. The sticker takes precedence over the documented default.
What is the default BSNL router password?
On most BSNL-supplied ONTs the factory credentials are admin and admin. The notable exception is the Netlink HG323RW, which ships with username admin and password stdONU101 (case-sensitive). Some Huawei and ZTE units installed by Telecom Infrastructure Providers (TIPs) ship with a per-device password printed on the back label rather than the generic admin default.
Does BSNL manufacture their own routers?
No. BSNL is an ISP, not a router brand. The hardware shipped under the Bharat Fiber brand is OEMed and TIP-sourced from Huawei (HG and EG series), ZTE (F660, F670L), Nokia (G-240W-A), Syrotech, Genexis (Pure 3), Skyworth, and Netlink (HG323RW). Unit selection depends on the Local Cable Operator or TIP handling your installation. Treat BSNL routers as gateway units configured for the Bharat Fiber service rather than as a hardware brand.
How do I login to my BSNL Bharat Fiber router?
Connect to the BSNL ONT over Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Open a browser and go to http://192.168.1.1. Enter admin as the username and admin as the password on most units. On the Netlink HG323RW, the password is stdONU101. On Huawei and ZTE units installed by TIPs, check the back-label for a per-device password if admin/admin is rejected.
Why are there so many different BSNL router models?
BSNL deploys ONTs through its Local Cable Operator and Telecom Infrastructure Provider partners rather than a single OEM contract. The TIP partnership model lets BSNL extend Bharat Fiber into rural and remote areas (Andaman and Nicobar, Lakshadweep, northeast India) where private operators like Jio and Airtel have limited presence. The trade-off is OEM fragmentation: customers receive whichever ONT the local TIP has in stock.
How do I reset my BSNL router to factory settings?
Locate the reset pinhole on the back of the ONT. Press and hold it with a paperclip or SIM-eject tool for 10 to 15 seconds until the LEDs blink. The unit reboots and restores factory settings. After reset, reconfigure the Wi-Fi password and any port forwards from scratch. The factory PON credentials provisioned by your BSNL TIP remain on the unit.
Can I use the MyBSNL app instead of the web interface?
MyBSNL is primarily a billing and recharge app for prepaid and postpaid mobile and broadband plans. Unlike the JioHome or Airtel Thanks apps, it does not provide direct gateway-level Wi-Fi management. For Bharat Fiber Wi-Fi password changes, port forwarding, or DHCP settings, the web panel at 192.168.1.1 is the primary surface. For service issues (slow speed, outages), report through MyBSNL or the BSNL Selfcare portal.
