Jio Router Login

192.168.29.1

Jio router login depends on the product line. JioFiber Home Gateway uses 192.168.29.1 or the hostname jiocentrum.home with default credentials admin and Jiocentrum (capital J). JioAirFiber 5G fixed wireless gateways use 192.168.31.1 (Xiaomi overlaps this address globally; Jio reuses it in India). JioFi mobile hotspots use jiofi.local.html resolving to 192.168.1.1, default credentials admin/admin. Post-mid-2024 firmware ships per-device passwords on the back label and forces a password change on first login.

Jio is the gateway brand used by Reliance Jio across three product lines for India’s largest broadband and mobile network. The parent telco is part of Reliance Industries (chaired by Mukesh Ambani), which launched the Jio mobile network in 2016, JioFiber in 2018, and JioAirFiber in 2023. The hardware is OEMed (Sercomm is the most common supplier, with Nokia G-240W-A units used as overflow stock in select circles) and branded with Reliance Jio firmware. Three product families ship under the Jio name: JioFiber Home Gateway, JioAirFiber, and JioFi.

Sercomm builds the JCOW411, JCOW414, and JCO4032 SKUs that Jio rebrands as the JMR815 and JMR1140 Home Gateway units. Internally they run an Econet EN751221 SoC (MediaTek MIPS) with MT7663 wireless silicon, and report into Jio’s back-end over TR-069 for remote management. The 2024 Wi-Fi 6 Gateway is a separate generation with WPA3 support and per-device passwords printed on the back label.

How to Login to Your Jio Router

The login method depends on which Jio product you have. Each line uses a different default gateway IP:

Check the sticker on the back of your unit for the exact gateway address. Post-mid-2024 firmware ships per-device passwords printed on the same label, and the gateway forces a password change at first login. The factory defaults above only apply to older units or units that have been reset.

JioFiber Home Gateway

JioFiber is fibre-to-the-home broadband delivered over a GPON ONT (Gigabit Passive Optical Network, Optical Network Terminal). The Home Gateway sits inside the customer premises and combines the ONT, the Wi-Fi access point, and the router into one box.

Plans range from ₹399 per month (30 Mbps) to ₹3,999 per month (1 Gbps). The gateway supports Wi-Fi 5 (AC1200) on most units shipped before 2024 and Wi-Fi 6 (AX1800) on newer deployments. The LAN subnet is 192.168.29.0/24 with the gateway at 192.168.29.1.

Login is via http://192.168.29.1 or the hostname http://jiocentrum.home with admin / Jiocentrum on older firmware. The admin panel covers Wi-Fi SSID and password changes, port forwarding, DHCP reservation, parental controls, and firmware status. For deeper configuration on newer ONT firmware, the JioHome app is the official channel.

JioAirFiber 5G Gateway

JioAirFiber is 5G fixed wireless broadband targeting homes where fibre is not yet available. The service expanded to 7,722 towns by early 2026, with plans from ₹599 per month to ₹1,199 per month.

The AirFiber gateway is either an indoor 5G CPE (customer premises equipment) or an outdoor antenna paired with an indoor router. It defaults to 192.168.31.1 on the LAN side. Default credentials follow the JioFiber pattern (admin / Jiocentrum) on most units, with per-device passwords on newer firmware printed on the label.

Configuration overlaps with JioFiber: Wi-Fi settings, port forwarding, DHCP, parental controls. The main difference is that AirFiber units expose 5G signal strength and band information in the admin panel.

JioFi Mobile Hotspot

JioFi is the portable 4G LTE hotspot product. It accepts a Jio SIM card and creates a personal Wi-Fi network for up to 32 devices. JioFi models include the M2S, JioFi 6, and several later revisions.

The admin panel is at http://jiofi.local.html (which resolves locally to 192.168.1.1) with default credentials admin / admin. The JioFi line is the one Jio product where the credentials and the gateway IP do not follow the JioFiber pattern, since it predates the unified JioCentrum gateway architecture.

Battery management, SIM details, and data usage tracking are exposed in the admin panel and in the MyJio app on iOS and Android.

Common Issues

Forgotten password. If the admin password has been changed and the original is lost, use the JioHome app’s password-recovery flow. If the app does not work, factory reset the gateway with the pinhole button on the back (10 to 15 seconds) and re-login with the label-printed credentials.

Gateway not loading. Confirm you are connected to the Jio gateway’s Wi-Fi or LAN, not to a separate router downstream. If you are double-NAT’d (Jio gateway plus a personal router), 192.168.29.1 only reaches the Jio unit when you are on the Jio network directly. See the router login not working guide for the full diagnostic.

HTTPS warning. Jio gateway admin panels use self-signed certificates. The browser warning is expected. Click “Advanced” then “Proceed” to continue.

Wrong IP. If 192.168.29.1 does not respond, check whether you have a JioAirFiber unit (192.168.31.1) or an older JioFi (192.168.1.1). The sticker on the back is authoritative.

How Jio Routers Compare to Other Indian ISPs

Jio’s all-in-one gateway design is unusual in the Indian market. Airtel Xstream Fiber and BSNL FTTH typically split the ONT and the router into two units, with most installations using 192.168.1.1 on the customer-facing router. ACT Fibernet and Hathway lean on 192.168.0.1 with TP-Link or D-Link hardware. Jio is the only major Indian provider that ships a fixed in-house gateway on the 192.168.29.0/24 subnet across every installation.

Jio also assigns a CGNAT-free public IPv4 on JioFiber plans, which means port forwarding works out of the box. Customers behind ACT or Hathway often hit CGNAT and need to negotiate a static IPv4 separately. The gateway exposes IPv6 alongside IPv4 on most JioFiber circuits.

Jio Router FAQ

What is the default IP for a Jio router?

JioFiber Home Gateway uses 192.168.29.1. JioAirFiber 5G fixed wireless gateways use 192.168.31.1. JioFi portable 4G hotspots use 192.168.1.1 (reachable via the hostname jiofi.local.html). Check the sticker on your device for the exact address. If your unit was supplied after mid-2024, the sticker also lists a per-device password that overrides the factory default.

What is the default Jio router password?

JioFiber Home Gateway default credentials are admin and Jiocentrum with a capital J. JioAirFiber uses the same pattern on many units. JioFi hotspots use admin/admin. Post-mid-2024 Jio firmware ships unique passwords printed on the back label and forces a password change at first login, so the factory defaults may not apply on newer units.

Does Reliance Jio manufacture their own routers?

No. Jio is an ISP, not a router brand. The hardware shipped under the Jio name is OEMed from Sercomm and a few other vendors, then loaded with Reliance Jio firmware. Treat Jio routers as gateway units configured for the JioFiber, JioAirFiber, or JioFi service rather than as a hardware brand.

How do I login to my JioFiber router?

Connect to the JioFiber gateway over Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Open a browser and go to http://192.168.29.1 or http://jiocentrum.home. Enter admin as the username and Jiocentrum as the password. If those do not work, check the label on the back of the unit for a per-device password printed under JioCentrum/CustomerCare. The label-printed password overrides the factory default on newer firmware.

What is the difference between JioFiber, JioAirFiber, and JioFi?

JioFiber is fibre-to-the-home broadband using a GPON ONT gateway on subnet 192.168.29.0/24. JioAirFiber is 5G fixed wireless broadband using an outdoor or indoor 5G CPE on subnet 192.168.31.0/24, available in 7,722 towns as of early 2026. JioFi is a portable 4G LTE hotspot device with a SIM slot, reachable at jiofi.local.html. The three products solve different access problems and use different gateway IPs.

How do I reset my Jio router to factory settings?

Locate the reset pinhole on the back of the gateway. Press and hold it with a paperclip or SIM-eject tool for 10 to 15 seconds until the LEDs blink. The gateway reboots and restores factory settings. Reconfigure the Wi-Fi password and any port forwards from scratch after the reset. The factory ONT credentials provisioned by Jio remain on the unit.

Can I use the MyJio or JioHome app instead of the web interface?

Yes. The JioHome app on iOS and Android provides Wi-Fi password changes, device management, parental controls, and bandwidth monitoring for JioFiber and JioAirFiber gateways. JioHome is the official password-recovery fallback if you forget the admin password. The MyJio app is for plan and billing management and does not control the gateway directly.
